DIY Supper for Your Pupper

We all love to eat food that’s healthy (though sometimes), delicious (at all times) and beneficial to our body. And our furry babies require no other prerequisites either. And it is even more important to provide them with a rich diet that makes their coat soft and shiny, that makes them jump around with energy everytime you come home to them, and makes them a healthy and a happily crazy poodle! So if you’re a new pet parent to a cute little munchkin or with an old dog that needs a good diet with special needs, to provide them with a nutritious homemade food can be a task none of us have time for. So! We’ve already done the research for you and listed below recipes that are quick and easy to make for your pupper… Remember to keep any dietary restrictions (like food allergies) in mind, and be sure to talk to your vet about the switch to homemade meals and how it could affect your pup. Also dont forget to capture your paw-pal’s reaction to these amazing meals their sure to love!

1) Doggie Fruit Dessert-

Ingredients:

¼ cup applesauce

¼ cup yogurt

½ cup blueberries

¼ cup strawberries

¼ cup diced apples

1 tbsp Brewer’s yeast (optional)

Method:

Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. That’s it!

2) Frozen Watermelon Dog Treats

Ingredients:

A quarter of a watermelon (seedless)

One can of coconut milk

Method:

Scoop out about 1/4 of the melon

Blend together with the can of coconut milk – add more watermelon if you want a darker pink.

Pour into ice cube tray and wait till they turn into nice pup-sicles

3) Banana pup pops-

Ingredients:

1 cup plain yogurt

1 banana (chopped into pieces)

1 tablespoon peanut butter

Method:

Put all ingredients into food processor or blender and mix until well-combined and smooth.

Divide the mixture into four paper cups.

Position a wooden ice-cream stick into the middle of the cup.

Place the cups in the freezer for at least 4 hours.

Peel the paper cup away from the pop and let your pup enjoy!

4) Dried Chewy Banana Dog Treats

Ingredients:

Bananas

Optional: lemon and honey

Method:

Peel and cut in half length-wise

Lay slices on a cookie sheet, lined with parchment paper or silicon mat.

Optional: Brush each slice with lemon juice (to prevent browning)

Bake at 210 F (or lower, depending your oven), for 1.5 hours (if you cook it longer it will be crunchy)

Optional: Drizzle some honey

5) Banana Berry Appsicle

Ingredients:

1 Apple

1 Banana

2 Strawberries

Method:

Cut the apple in half.

Scoop out the insides, leaving the walls intact at about 1/2 to 1/4 inch thickness. (Remember to remove the seeds.)

Place it in the blender with the banana and strawberries. Blend it.

Using a spoon, place it inside the apple.

Freeze it for about 20 minutes. Then slice into small pieces.

(Don’t freeze it too long as it will be harder to cut.)

Re-freeze it after cutting.

Serve and let your furr-kid enjoy!

6) Mango Berry Paw-sicle.

Ingredients:

1 small mango

1 cup of sliced strawberries

1/4 cup of yogurt

Optional:

1 tsp of Honey

Method:

Mix all the ingredients in a blender.

Pour into an ice cube tray or mold.

Freeze it for about 2 hours and serve.
